Safeguarding & Child Protection
Project Canaan Academy keeps this information available so families and visitors know what to expect.
Our commitment
Project Canaan Academy is committed to the safety and wellbeing of every child in our care. We believe every child is made in the image of God and deserves to be protected from harm, and we expect every member of staff, volunteer and visitor to share that commitment.
We work in line with the laws of Eswatini, including the Children’s Protection and Welfare Act, 2012.
Reporting a concern
If you are worried that a child is being harmed or is at risk of harm, do not wait. Report your concern straight away to the Principal or the school office, using the details on our Contact Us page.
If a child is in immediate danger, contact the local police or emergency services without delay.
How we keep children safe
- Staff and volunteers are carefully recruited and background-checked before they work with children
- Staff receive regular safeguarding training
- All visitors are expected on arrival and are accompanied while on site
- Concerns are recorded, handled confidentially and shared only with those who need to know
Images of learners online
We only publish photographs of learners on this website and in school publications in line with our consent and safeguarding practice. We do not publish learners’ full names alongside identifiable photographs, or details that could reveal where a child can be found.
Our full policy
The school’s full safeguarding and child protection policy is available on our Policies page or on request from the school office.
